Broadly e-Visa can be divided into three categories:

  1. e-Tourist Visa
  2. e-Business Visa
  3. e-Medical Visa
  • Two additional categories — e-Medical Attendant Visa and e-Conference Visa — have since been added. Up to two e-Medical Attendant visas will be granted against one e-Medical Visa.
  • The visa categories can be clubbed together. However, e-Conference visas are only permitted to be clubbed with e-Tourist visas.
The validity of E-Tourist visas and E-Business visas has been extended to one year from the date of grant of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA), subject to limitations on the length of continuous stay. Multiple entries are permitted.

What Type of Visa is Required for India?

For travelers with a stay in India lasting less than 72 hours, a Transit visa is accessible, provided a confirmed airline booking for the onward journey is presented during the application process. Otherwise, individuals are required to obtain an Indian Tourist visa.
The duration of the Tourist visa is contingent upon the applicant’s nationality.
Visitors from the United States, Canada, and Japan are eligible for Tourist visas with a validity of up to 10 years. Additionally, La Culture Tours is pleased to offer five-year Tourist visas to individuals from most countries, subject to the availability of biometric enrollment facilities. In cases where such facilities are not available, Tourist visas are typically issued for periods of three, six months, or one year. It’s important to note that these visas are typically granted as multiple-entry visas for added convenience.

Important thing-

  • E-Visa is valid from the date of issue, not the date of arrival in India.
  • Regardless of the duration of the Tourist visa, visitors are not allowed to stay in India for more than six months (180 days) at a time.
  • Some Tourist visas only permit stays of up to three months at a time.
  • Other types of visas for visitors to India include:
    • Business Visas
    • Employment Visas
