Christians make up 2.3%, and other religious communities, including Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, Parsis, among others, collectively represent 3.8% of the population. India holds a unique and significant place in the history of religions, as it is the birthplace of four major faiths: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism.

Climate and Weather
India boasts an astonishing array of climatic regions, spanning from arid deserts in the west to alpine tundra and glaciers in the north, along with humid tropical conditions that support lush rainforests in the southwest and eastern regions. The country experiences four distinct seasons: winter (January and February), summer (March to May), monsoon or rainy season (June to September), and a post-monsoon period (October to December). Typically, the most favorable time to visit India is during the winter months when the weather in most regions is relatively cool and pleasant, making it an ideal time for travelers to explore the diverse landscapes and cultural experiences India has to offer.

Visitors from the United States, Canada, and Japan are eligible for Tourist visas with a validity of up to 10 years. 1. Banks and Authorized Bureaux de Changes: Major currencies can be exchanged at banks and authorized bureaux de changes. This is a reliable and secure way to exchange money.

2. Hotels: While hotels may offer currency exchange services, they often provide less favorable exchange rates. It’s advisable to use this option only if you have no other immediate choice.

3. Airport Exchange Offices: Exchange offices at airports are usually open at all hours, but the rates may not be as attractive. This is a convenient option if you need local currency upon arrival.

4. Pre-Arranged Foreign Exchange: If you plan to exchange a significant amount (above $500), we can help you arrange foreign exchange with authorized currency exchange providers at favorable rates.

It’s important to note that exchanging money through unauthorized means is both illegal and risky, and should be avoided.

However, it’s important to note that some hotels in certain locations may not accept credit cards, so it’s advisable to confirm their payment policies in advance.

Before making any transactions with your credit card, it’s a good practice to pre-check with the establishment or business to ensure they accept your specific card and to inquire about any potential additional charges or fees associated with credit card payments. This concept is not widely practiced in India. Public transport can be crowded, and lifts may feel cramped. People might ask personal questions that seem intrusive but are actually a sign of polite interest in you. Keep in mind that this is a distinct cultural context, and these questions are a way for locals to engage with you.

Photography
Taking pictures is generally allowed without significant restrictions, but it’s a good practice to consult your guide when in doubt. It’s important to be aware that there are camera and video camera charges at many monuments. You will need to purchase a separate ticket for this purpose as it is not included in the entrance fee. Additionally, there are limitations on the use of tripods in certain national monuments, like Qutab Minar in Delhi, so it’s advisable to be informed about the specific rules for each location you visit.
